Gold Medal for Mateus Sparkling

Having clearly established its success with consumers, who cherish it as the perfect companion to conviviality, Mateus Sparkling is making its mark amongst wine critics. The wine has been distinguished with its second Gold Medal at the world-renowned Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, with this year’s edition taking place, as chance would have it, in the Portuguese city of Guimarães.

Following careful sampling of 8,739 wines from the world over, the jury decided to distinguish Mateus Rosé Sparkling, a fresh, youthful, contemporary wine launched in 2008 as a natural step forward in the strategic development of the most specialized and prestigiuos rosé producing brand in the vast Sogrape Vinhos portfolio.
Sogrape Vinhos’ developed Mateus Sparkling in keeping with this leading brand’s considerable reputation, looking to “captivate consumers who identify with a style which simultaneoulsy embodies class and modernity”, according to Sogrape Vinhos CEO, Francisco Ferreira.

Ideal in any celebration, Mateus Rosé Sparkling is, according to enologist Miguel Pessanha, a wine to be taken with life’s simple pleasures! “It has a beautiful, pale, rose petal pink colour, with light hues of salmon. Its abundant and extremely fine bubbles result in a delicate and persistent mousse. Exceptionaly refreshing, with floral nuances, this wine has the pleasant aromas of apples, pears and raspberries and subtle notes of toasted bread which interplay with a fresh and lively acidity, providing for an aromatic and delicate finish.
